Episode 12: Birth Stories Part 1- Hospital birth trauma
Danesha tells her birth story and its one that may bring you to tears. For so long we were indoctrinated with this belief that hospital births were safe. However, time has shown that our maternal and infant mortality rate has increased dramatically since we transitioned into hospital births in the early 1900. Making Black and Latino women 3-4x more likely to die from pregnancy due to malpractice. Danesha although had a traumatic birth experience was able to take that and turn it into something positive and find her healing.
